Located South of Sikkim, in North Bengal is the famous hill resort of Darjeeling at an altitude of 2150M (6,800 ft). It borders with Sikkim on the North and Nepal towards its West: Average temperature during summers is around 20°C and 10°C during winters. Darjeeling experiences heavy monsoon between Jun and Aug when visitors are advised to bring water proofs/umbrellas along with winter clothing. Darjeeling is famous for its tea gardens which produce premium Darjeeling tea also known as the Champagne of the East. Darjeeling is also famous for its good educational institutes of which the prominent once are Loreto College for girls, St. Paul's Schoo,l Mt. Hermon, St. Joseph College and North Point school.
