I started this website so that I could be in office and still enjoy the outdoors. Vicariously, of course.
When I turned 40 someone gave me a mug that said 'Life begins at 40' and I took it seriously. In hindsight, I wish they had given it to me when I was 20.
In terms of proficiency with the adventure sports, I am the definition of 'Jack of all trades'. And I am happy for it to be that way - I enjoy too many things to be obsessively focused on just one.
I have been cycle touring for about ten years now. Have been trekking/hiking since school -- which was way back in the previous millennium. Have been scuba diving for a couple of years. Can run a bit. And have just dipped my feet into Paragliding...
